We measured the user experience of an e-commerce website before and after it was optimized for mobile devices and used Google Analytics to follow user behavior. The results suggested that optimized websites are likely to have a major positive impact on the ROI for a company.

In this study, we developed two mobile designs for an e-commerce website and tested their impact the on user experience. Our preliminary results showed that both designs facilitate a superior user experience; thus, our study provides a theoretical direction for developing visual design guidelines for mobile optimization of e-commerce websites.
